Production Data

In this article:

There are three methods to send production or facility data to Energy Sensei – good, better, or best! For timely data and to eliminate the burden of monthly manual processes, it’s worth the effort to use the best method – to automate your data.

Advantages of Automating Production Data

  • Easy to use and no sign in required
  • Maintains consistent and timely uploads
  • Reduces recurring time commitments to manual processes
  • Reduces failed uploads of regular data

The disadvantages are minimal! Automating requires initial IT time for setup and testing between site and IT staff.

Your Energy Sensei representative will help implement the optimal data method and provide you with data format requirements.

Best Method – Fully Automated

Automating data to Sensei saves you time! This fully automated solution sends a scheduled file directly to Sensei for optimum consistency.

To set up this method:

1: Email your Sensei representative a point of contact – someone at your facility (e.g., systems administrator) with knowledge of your production reporting system

2: We will work with your facility contact to apply a custom import configuration based on your data

3: Your systems administrator will set up a local script to regularly send data via secure file transfer protocol (sFTP)

Better Method – Semi-Automated

If your IT department is not able to automate a file sent directly to Sensei, then you can use a semi-automated method to move a file into a local folder to send to Sensei.

To set up this method:

1: Talk to your Sensei representative for an example file format

2: Configure your production data in the required 3-column or multi-column format (your Sensei representative will provide these details)

3: Use the link we send you to set up a local script to regularly push us a production report via sFTP

4: Manually drag and drop your file into your local sFTP folder at least monthly

Good Method – Manual

For daily, weekly, and monthly data you can add data to Sensei manually to update your model.

1: Work with your Sensei representative to show you how to enter data

2: Add data regularly – at least monthly

Keep your model up to date by regularly uploading your production data.

Do you have complicated production data? Work with your Sensei representative to help configure your data for upload.
